Tours and Education
Since 1978 we have opened our doors to free tours of our Western Australian operations, opening people’s eyes and students’ minds, sharing an insight into the technology and ingenuity that transforms the red rock-like mineral bauxite into light-weight, multi-purpose aluminium.
Education: Teachers can enhance classroom lessons with a free incursion or a free educational on-site visit at one of our operations in Western Australia. Alcoa provides a subsidy per student to assist with bus hire costs. Tours can be tailored to suit education focus areas aligned with curriculum requirements. Bookings are essential.

Visit Pinjarra Alumina Refinery and Huntly Bauxite Mine
Departing from Pinjarra, this tour visits our Huntly Bauxite Mine, internationally-awarded mine rehabilitation and Pinjarra Alumina Refinery. The bus service is free with pickup points available in Mandurah subject to minimum numbers.
Visit Wagerup Alumina Refinery and Willowdale Bauxite Mine
Departing from Waroona, this tour visits our Willowdale Bauxite Mine, internationally-awarded mine rehabilitation and Wagerup Alumina Refinery. The bus service is free with pickup up points available in Harvey subject to minimum numbers.
Tailored tours: Can be arranged for educational providers and special interest groups. Depending on your focus, you can choose to visit our mining, rehabilitation, refining or port facilities.
