For more than 60 years, Alcoa has been a significant contributor to the Australian economy, mining bauxite and refining alumina in Western Australia, and smelting aluminium in Victoria.

We have listened to and acted on community feedback by significantly expanding our Mining Avoidance Zone (MAZ) around Dwellingup, more than doubling the protected area to 26,000 hectares (ha) – equivalent to the size of approximately 860 Optus stadiums.
