Yati Varshneya joined Alcoa on April 13, 2026, as Vice President, Europe Operations. Based in the United Kingdom, she is a key member of the Operations Lead Team and is responsible for performance across Alcoa’s European assets.
Yati is a senior leader with over 20 years of experience across mining, metals, advanced manufacturing, and specialty chemicals, including senior leadership roles at Johnson Matthey. She has led large-scale transformations in global industrial organizations, delivering sustained improvements in safety, reliability, efficiency, and business performance, while building operating systems and capabilities designed to endure beyond individual leadership tenures.
Known for a people-centred leadership style, Yati builds accountable, high-performing teams across functions and geographies. She combines strong operational discipline with a clear belief that people and culture are the true sources of competitive advantage. Her focus is on improving safety and operational health, strengthening resilience, and moving from managing risk to systematically removing it where possible.
Beyond her executive roles, Yati has been actively involved in supporting the care, education, and development of special needs children in India, reflecting her commitment to inclusion and community impact. She also supports STEM education initiatives and is a certified meditation trainer, reflecting her focus on both capability building and individual wellbeing. She has received the Women in Manufacturing Award and has been named among The Manufacturer Top 100. Yati holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and an Executive MBA.
