Collaborating for Inclusion: Alcoa Foundation Reflects on 2025 IG Impact Fund Progress

As 2025 comes to a close, Alcoa Foundation is celebrating a year of progress through its Inclusion Groups (IG) Impact Fund—a philanthropic program that amplifies the voices and missions of Alcoa’s employee-led Inclusion Groups by supporting charitable organizations making a difference in communities around the world.
Grounded in Alcoa’s value of Care for People, the IG Impact Fund reflects the belief that inclusive communities are stronger communities. This initiative brings that belief to life by connecting the values of Alcoans with the work of charitable organizations in regions where the company operates.
The IG Impact Fund is a unique model of employee-informed giving. Around international days of recognition, the Foundation collaborates with Alcoa’s four Inclusion Groups, which are open to all employees—AWN, AWARE, EAGLE and ABLE—to support charitable organizations whose work aligns with their respective focus areas. The fund builds on the energy and engagement of Alcoans, translating inclusion values into real community impact.
It also reflects the Foundation’s broader commitment to supporting efforts that strengthen community resilience, economic opportunity, and environmental stewardship.

2025 in Review: Community Impact Rooted in Inclusion
Throughout 2025, the Alcoa Foundation collaborated with Inclusion Groups to support charitable organizations. Here’s a look at this year’s campaigns:
AWN: Supporting Women’s Empowerment and Equality
Aligned with International Women’s Day on March 8, AWN (Alcoa Women’s Network) collaborated with the Alcoa Foundation to support nonprofits advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment around the world. These efforts helped expand access to leadership development, education, mentorship, and economic opportunity for women and girls.
AWN × Iceland
In Iceland, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing domestic violence and supporting survivors in remote areas received support. Their mission focuses on expanding access to counseling services in the Austurland region, raising awareness through workshops, and building strong local partnerships to better serve individuals impacted by violence.
AWARE: Advancing Racial-Ethnic Equality
Tied to the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on May 21, AWARE (Alcoans Working Actively for Racial-Ethnic Equality) collaborated with the Foundation to identify organizations strengthening racial equality, cultural understanding, and access to education and leadership pathways in the nine countries where Alcoa operates.
AWARE × São Paulo, Brazil
In Brazil, Alcoa volunteers welcomed teens for a breakfast round table on racial equality and workforce inclusion. Hosted in partnership with a local charitable organization, the event encouraged youth to explore career goals and left participants inspired— “What I liked the most was closing my eyes and visualizing all the goals I have,” shared one 15-year-old.
EAGLE: Uplifting LGBTQ+ Communities
In June, aligned with International LGBTQ+ Pride Day, EAGLE (Employees at Alcoa for LGBTQ+ Equality) worked with the Foundation to support organizations promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion, mental health, visibility, and advocacy across global communities. These efforts helped advance safer, more inclusive spaces and expanded access to support services.
EAGLE × Bécancour, Canada
A podcast series that spotlights the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals received funding in Canada. Produced by GRIS-Mauricie, the show fosters empathy, education and allyship by sharing real stories and is now entering its second season.
ABLE: Promoting Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Accessibility
Aligned with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, ABLE (Alcoans Moving Beyond Limited Expectations) partnered with the Foundation to champion charitable organizations expanding accessibility, inclusion, and opportunities for people with disabilities. Supported programs ranged from therapy and education to mental health and community inclusion initiatives.
ABLE × Australia
In Portland, Australia, a grant to Kyeema Support Services is helping transform a local respite house’s play area into a fully inclusive space for people with disabilities. The upgrades include adaptive equipment, sensory-friendly features and improved access paths—ensuring children and adults can enjoy safe, meaningful recreation.
