United Nations Global Compact: Alcoa’s shared commitment to creating a better world

The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, bringing together more than 15,000 signatories across the business, nonprofit, and public sectors in a shared commitment to support and uphold the 10 Principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption with the vision of creating a better world.

Alcoa shares this ambitious vision, and as a signatory of the Global Compact, we are committed to helping make that vision a reality.

In 2020, Alcoa demonstrated its continued support of the Global Compact through concerted action that helped us make progress against each of the 10 Principles. We have highlighted these actions and their measurable impacts in our 2020 Communication on Progress (COP). You can access the 2020 Communication On Progress here

Our participation in the United Nations Global Compact initiative is part of Alcoa’s broader sustainability reporting commitments. In addition to the Global Compact, we report performance progress against the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative’s GRI Standards, the International Council on Mining and Metals' (ICMM) 10 Principles and eight Position Statements, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These details can be found in our 2020 Sustainability Report.
