NEWBURGH, IN: April 3, 2006 - The community is invited to learn more about Alcoa's business and provide feedback to the management team at the first Annual Meeting of the Warrick Operations Community Advisory Board on Monday, April 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Castle High School Auditorium.
"At Alcoa, we define sustainability as using our Values to build financial success, environmental excellence, and social responsibility through partnerships in order to deliver long-term benefits to our shareowners, employees, customers, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate," said Ann Whitty, Vice President and General Manager of Alcoa Warrick Operations. "This meeting will be a great opportunity to share our progress toward sustainability and gain feedback from our stakeholders to improve our actions going forward."
Warrick Operations created the Community Advisory Board (CAB) in 2000 to provide advice about Alcoa's social commitment to the community. More recently, the group of elected officials, media representatives, and business, nonprofit, and educational leaders has received information and given feedback regarding other important business issues. On April 10th, Alcoa managers will review recent performance and share strategies for future improvements. The event will also include a feedback opportunity to capture and understand the ideas and concerns of those in attendance.
An opportunity to network with Alcoa business leaders and CAB members will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend, but in order to properly plan for the event, interested persons are asked to RSVP to Becky Richardson at 812-853-4202 or becky.richardson@alcoa.com.
