With 120 acres under one roof, 300 within the fence, and 9,000 acres overall, Warrick Operations is one of the largest aluminum smelting and fabricating facilities in the world. Alcoa's Primary Metals and Rigid Packaging divisions are located here, where aluminum sheet for beverage and food can ends and tabs are made along with other flat-rolled aluminum products.

Jay Leno has been keeping Alcoa engineers up late at night - but not just with his monologues. Leno challenged engineering teams at Alcoa and General Motors (GM) to create a new car to add to his extensive collection with two primary specifications; it must be high powered and environmentally friendly. To meet this challenge, Alcoa partnered with Leno's personal auto shop, called the Big Dog Garage, and GM to provide structural engineering expertise, spaceframe technology and high-performance forged aluminum wheels. The end result is Leno's jet-powered, biodiesel -fueled EcoJet concept vehicle, which was recently on display at Alcoa's Warrick Operations.

More than 75 community members attended Alcoa Warrick Operations' 2nd Annual Report to the Community on Thursday, May 3rd at Castle High School. Attendees were able to interact with plant leaders, learn more about the business and provide feedback about our performance in the community.

Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman joined officials from Alcoa and The Nature Conservancy in an event in the Statehouse Rotunda to announce the substantial grant to the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy that targets Wabash River conservation and Southwestern Indiana reforestation and rehabilitation efforts. In acknowledging the gift, Skillman said, "Here in Indiana, we all have the responsibility to be stewards of our environment. Today's event celebrates the hard work The Nature Conservancy and Alcoa Foundation are doing to preserve the Wabash River and maintain Indiana as a special place to live."
