Alcoa operates the Rockdale, Sandow and Southern Railroad (RS&S) as wholly owned subsidiary, a "spur" line that serves as a critical link between Rockdale Operations and suppliers, customers and other Alcoa locations. Annually, the RS&S delivers more than 6,700 loads of raw materials and ships nearly 1,300 loads of finished goods from the facility.

USWA Local 4895 and IBEW Local 2078 represent union workers at Rockdale Operations.
