The forging process

Forging in five steps

Every wheel starts as a single block of high-strength aluminium alloy.

With an 8000 tonne press, the block is forged into the basic wheel shape. Once forged, the wheels are heat-treated to maximise overall mechanical strength.

Precision machining ensures that each wheel is perfectly round. This eliminates any runout in a turning wheel.
Next, the ventilation and mounting holes are drilled.

Forging provides 423% more strength - in a wheel that offers increased payload.

The mirror polish operation gives the wheel a reflective shine.
