Fluoride concentration in grass near the Alcoa Fjardaál smelter temporarily increased

The outcome of annual sampling of grass in the vicinity of the Alcoa Fjardaál smelter in Reydarfjördur, which was presented to the company on Monday, shows that the fluoride concentration is higher this year than it has been for the past few years. The concentration, however, does not exceed the company‘s set levels in the Environmental Operating Permit (EOP).  Fjardaál has reported the these outcomes to the Environmental and Food Agency (EFA).
