Ball Corporation and Unilever – Advancing Low-Carbon Packaging with ELYSIS®

Building on our long-standing partnership with Ball, a global leader in aluminum packaging, Alcoa expanded its collaboration in 2025 through a joint pilot with Ball and Unilever to produce the firstever personal care and home care packaging made with ELYSIS® carbon-free smelting aluminum. The aerosol can – made with 50% ELYSIS® metal and 50% recycled content – represents one of the lowest-carbon packaging solutions available today and demonstrates how breakthrough technologies can be integrated into mainstream consumer products.
