Julie A. Caponi
Assistant Treasurer
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Julie Caponi was elected Assistant Treasurer in May 2013. She will be involved across all Corporate Treasury functions including treasury operations, corporate finance, bank relationship management, risk management and transaction execution. 
 
Ms. Caponi was Vice President, Internal Audit for Alcoa from April 2005 to May 2013. She was accountable for Alcoa’s auditing activities in its worldwide operations.  Prior to assuming this post, she was Director, Financial Planning & Analysis for the corporation.  Julie joined Alcoa in 2000 and shortly thereafter was named Assistant Controller and an officer of the company.  During the time Julie has been with Alcoa, she has been responsible for establishing and maintaining financial accounting policies, overseeing the consolidation of Alcoa’s financial results, and leading the company’s initiatives related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
 
Prior to joining Alcoa, Julie was an audit partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the accounting firm’s Pittsburgh office, where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and accounting for complex financial instruments.  From 1983 until 1986, she was senior auditor at Epstein, Tabor and Schorr also located in Pittsburgh.
 
Julie is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.  She currently is a member of the board of directors and serves on the Audit Committee of First Commonwealth Bank. In addition, Julie is an active member of the Pittsburgh Chapter’s Finance/Treasury Committee of the annual Walk FAR for NAAR, a non profit organization devoted to funding research for the cause and treatment of autism.
 
Julie graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1983 with a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting.
