Stewardship Policy
XIII. Discharges/Dumping

  1. Yadkin prohibits any discharge or dumping into Project waters of any materials, including but not limited to wastewater from sanitary or storm sewer systems, industrial waste, chemicals, paints, petroleum products, household products, leaves, grass clippings, and household waste. The introduction of these materials to the reservoir system can significantly impact water quality and may be a violation of State and federal law. Yadkin also prohibits the application of pesticides or herbicides in the Project reservoirs, on Project lands, or on the Yadkin-Managed Buffer without Yadkin’s written permission.
  2. Anyone responsible for discharging or dumping such materials into Project waters is subject to enforcement as provided in Section XIV below, and Yadkin also may refer such actions to proper authorities for investigation.
