The Yadkin Project provides a number of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to the region. Boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, and hunting are just a few of the activities available.
Within the Yadkin Project, there are 43 public access points where visitors can gain access to the lakes. Many include swimming areas with free life jackets and picnic areas – making enjoyment of the lakes available to everyone. Campgrounds, river trails, nature preserves, gamelands and the nearby Uwharrie National Forest make the area a popular outdoor recreation destination.
