Drought Management Plan

Following the severe drought of 2002, Alcoa-Yadkin has sought to better prepare for future drought conditions. It has worked closely with state and federal agencies, and other hydropower operators to develop contingency plans designed to better address the various water needs throughout the Yadkin - Pee Dee River Basin.

As conditions warrant, Alcoa-Yadkin sponsors a meeting to discuss current water conditions within the Yadkin - Pee Dee River Basin as required by the FERC approved drought contingency plan. For a brief summary of the most recent meeting, click here.
