We began reaching out to community groups to introduce Alcoa and the proposed aluminium smelter project on May 8, 2004. This was the same day that the original Memorandum of Understanding to explore the feasibility of the smelter project was signed.

The list below contains the groups or organisations we've either contacted or attempted to contact to date. Some of this contact has been made directly by Alcoa representatives, some by telephone or email, and some through distribution of the Terms of Reference for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the Chatham/Cap-de-Ville site.

The list of organisations will expand once an agreed-upon site has been identified, and developed, by the government.

If your group is not on the list and you'd like to receive information about Alcoa, please email us. We would be pleased to respond.

Please note: Inclusion in this list does not signify either support or opposition to the project; it just means that we have established or attempted to establish contact to facilitate participation in the community consultative process.
