Involving the Community in Environmental Management
View the environmental improvement plans for Alcoa locations in Australia.
Environmental improvement plans set out goals and objectives for environmental performance and provide data to show how the smelters are being operated in pursuit of those objectives.
You can see that they have been signed by members of the communities close to our smelters, as well as by our management. The community members play an active role in development of these annual plans and sign them to show that they have been involved in the process.
If we proceed with our proposal to build a modern smelter in Trinidad, we would bring a similar process to ensure the community has a reliable means of assessing our environmental performance.
