Alcoa Inc. to make special canned water available to public, employees

To commemorate the Tennessee Operations 100-year anniversary, Alcoa Inc. will offer their centennial anniversary canned water for sale to the community and employees on Friday, August 16 in front of the North Plant administration building on North Wright Road.

The sale will take place from 6 to 9 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m.

The centennial canned water has already made appearances in the community this summer. It was unveiled at FreedomFest in June and has been donated to the Habitat for Humanity build site for their volunteers. Since 2008, Alcoa Inc. has donated more than 3,600 cases, or almost 86,000 cans of water to nonprofit organizations in the area.

“Over the past several years, we’ve had countless folks ask us where they could buy canned water.” said Christy Newman, Alcoa’s public relations and communications manager.  In celebration of our 100-year-anniversary, we are making the commemorative canned water available.  Cans are great for boating, tailgating, pool side and family reunions.  Aluminum cans are easy to transport, easy to chill and most importantly, are 100 percent recyclable.'

The special anniversary canned water is being offered at cost for a very limited time only.  Cost is $5 for a case of 24 cans.
