Alcoa Life! Golf Tournament
It’s that time of year again to tee off!
The 10th annual Alcoa Life! Golf Tournament is Monday August 18, at Green Meadow Country Club. Not only will you get to enjoy a day of golf with your co-workers, but you’ll also receive a gift bag, have a chance at door prizes and more! All Alcoa employees, retirees, full time contractors and family members are invited to play.

Bike and Brunch
Bicycle. Bicycle. I want to ride my bike.
The Life! Committee is introducing a new event this year called Life! Bike and Brunch. On Saturday, August 16, you and your family are invited to meet at the loop entrance of Cades Cove, bike all or part of Cades Cove, and then head to the new Barn Event Center in Townsend for brunch.
A safety orientation for the trail will be conducted by Cycology Bikes at 7:00 a.m. After that, you can ride through Cades Cove while the trail is closed to vehicle traffic until 10:00 a.m. After the ride, we’ll head to the Barn Center and feast at one of the newest event places in Townsend.
You don’t even need to own a bike. The Cades Cove store has bike rentals available starting at $4 an hour. We do require that every bike rider have a helmet and no opened toe shoes will be allowed. There is a choice of three rides - 4 miles, 8 miles or 11 miles. The committee asks that all children making the trip are accompanied by adults and accustomed to making long bike rides.

Dollywood Tickets
Your Life! Committee has often been asked about Dollywood tickets and doing an event at Dollywood. To gauge participation in a future event at Dollywood, the Life! Committee will offer tickets to the theme park in 2008.
This year, all employees, family members, full time contractors and retirees are invited to purchase a good-any-day ticket from Dollywood. This means, if you purchase these tickets, you can visit the park on one day of your choice between July 4 and August 18. Ticket prices are $28 for adults and $23 for children ages 4 to 11. Regular one-day admission ticket prices are $50 for adults and $39 for children. More than 40% in savings!
But wait, there's more. If you purchase your good-any-day ticket, you can elect to visit the park before April 27 and upgrade to a season pass, allowing you access to the park all year long. There are many different types of season passes available, some that include admission to Splash Country. Prices start at $23 for adults and $21 for children. The Life! Committee is not responsible for the cost of season pass upgrades. You can still upgrade your ticket after April 27, but the price increases to $33 (adult) and $31 (child).
