Chilhowee Reservoir public access areas reopened

Alcoa Power Generating Inc. announced today that Chilhowee Reservoir is now open. On April 27, severe weather in Blount and Monroe counties damaged transmission structures and lines within Chilhowee Reservoir. Due to these storm-related damages, Alcoa had closed the lake’s boat accesses until repairs could be made.
The damaged tower has been completely removed from the lake. Reflective markers have been placed around the remaining concrete structure/pad and boaters are asked to be alert and aware of this potential hazard.
Barricade material has been removed from all boat ramps enabling access to boaters.
