Suralco makes several new community grants
Suralco gave a number of grants at its headquarters this morning. The occasion for this was the coming Carifesta 8 Festival, which runs from August 24 through 30, as you may well know.
The largest grant was given to the Directorate of Culture. The keys of an Isuzu pick-up truck with a load capacity of 750 kg were given by General Manager Operations Warren Pedersen to John Pawiroredjo, Director of Culture and Carifesta.
On Stage Productions, the National Choir Federation in Suriname, and the Arumba Group of the Java Immigration Memorial Society, as participants to Carifesta 8, received an amount of over 8 million guilders.
An other gift was made to Neighborhood Council Tourtonne 5, in the shape of a riding lawn mower with a value of approximately 4 million guilders.
The Office of the Public Prosecutor received a computer with printer, and the Entomology Department of LVV and the Archival Department of the EGBS each received a computer.
