Samara Charity Oscar 2008 Awards

Samara – Samara Metallurgical Plant of Alcoa was awarded a Charity Oscar 2008 Award  which recognizes its community activities in the Samara region.

The Charity Oscar 2008 Awards were established in 2005 by the Samara NGO Desnitsa which unites disabled people on wheel chairs. It is aimed at promoting and raising the prestige of philanthropy, as well as recognition and encouragement of philanthropists in the Samara region.
 
Participants of the Charity Oscar Awards are representatives of businesses and individuals who are involved in charitable activity on the territory of the Samara region.
 
Samara Metallurgical Plant of Alcoa has been awarded with this social recognition prize in nomination “For the Novelty” for organization and holding of the IV Samara Regional Contest of Children’s Drawings “The World with Children’s Eyes”.
 
The nomination “For the Novelty” was established to recognize charitable donations or gifts which go beyond common donations and make a significant social impact (e.g. for unusual gift or help or surprise, or for making a dream come true, or for a souvenir, etc.).
 
“The World with the Children’s Eyes” was held from September to November 2007 and involved disabled children. It was organized in partnership with the Samara Regional Special Training Center for Disabled Children.
