ALCOA RUSSIA TOGETHER WITH BECEMA COMPANY INTRODUCED NEW ALUMINUM SOLUTIONS FOR COMMERCIAL TRANSPORTATION

On September 15, 2011 Alcoa Russia and Becema introduced new advanced product for the commercial transportation market - the semitrailer made of the new aluminum alloy. The presentation took place within the framework of the traditional event ‘Becema Days’ which annually takes place on the territory of the Machine-building Plant in Krasnogorsk city.
Aluminum cement trucks and petrol tank trucks are manufactured on the basis of 1565Ch – Alcoa Russia new innovating aluminum alloy. Due to the use of 1565Ch alloy it is possible to reduce tank weight by 25-30%. Being lighter and stronger than steel solutions, aluminum allows to reduce the weight of the transport vehicle, which results in reduction of gas consumption when transporting goods. Among the benefits of aluminum tanks are improved corrosion resistance, high depreciable value during material disposal and good ecological properties. These vehicles are characterized by reliability, high quality of execution and safety.
Within the framework of Becema Days Becema plant tours were organized with the aim to show the visitors semitrailers at all the stages of production – from metal pieces to finished samples.
Agenda also included presentations prepared by leading experts in the sphere of commercial automobile engineering.
Among reporters:
- Alexander Drits, Alcoa Russia Technology Director: ‘Alcoa Russia Technical capabilities in manufacturing aluminum alloy products for transport machine building’ - Dietrich Wieser – Doctor of Engineering – Alcoa Europe Business Development Director in Transport segment: ‘Experience of using aluminum alloys in transport machine building’ - Serge Timmermans, Alcoa Wheel Products Europe Commercial Director, and Tomasz Krawczyk, Alcoa Wheel Products Europe Sales Manager: ‘Advantages of aluminum wheels use in freight transport’ The main guests of Becema Days included the buyers of the goods, produced at the plant, suppliers of the component parts, partners – MAN, Volvo, MZKT (Minsk wheeled tractor plant), SAF, Binotto, HYVA, Camozzi – as well as regional dealers from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
