Klaus Kleinfeld, Alcoa Inc. CEO, Participates in Russia-US Business Summit

On July 6-7, President of the United States Barack Obama paid his first official visit to Russia. On July 7, Presidents of the US and Russia participated in the US-Russia Business Summit to discuss key trade and investment issues with an exclusive gathering of Russian-American business leaders.

Speaking on behalf of the US business society, Klaus Kleinfeld, Alcoa President and CEO, drew special attention to the initiative of the two leaders on formation of a Russian-American Intergovernmental group as a panel for discussion of growth opportunities for both countries. “We will support the initiatives of the group as much as we can,” he said.

On July 7, Klaus Kleinfeld also participated in the graduation ceremony of the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow, where President Obama delivered a commencement speech. NES is one of the Russian universities supported by Alcoa Foundation. Last year, Alcoa Foundation awarded $300,000 in a three-year grant for an economics professorship aimed at gathering a world-class faculty at NES.
