Alcoa Metallurg Rus Successfully Passes an Audit for Production of Aerospace Materials

Belaya Kalitva – In early February Alcoa Metallurg Rus, (AMR) went through a recertification audit for production of aerospace materials and an inspection audit of the plant’s Central testing laboratory in order to prolong their qualification under the Certification System for aerospace engineering and civil aerospace engineering according to the requirements of the International Aviation Committee’s Aviation Register (AR MAK). Based on the results of the audit, AMR’s testing laboratory was re-qualified until 2013, this qualification precedes providing the location with the Certificate for aerospace materials production.
 
The audit also included testing of all major production shops as well as departments of the plant’s Central Lab.
 
Successful passing of the audit gives Alcoa Metallurg Rus certain competitive advantages on the Russian A&D market.
 
According to Yury Dyakonov, Quality Director of Alcoa Metallurg Rus, “The Certificate we are now getting is an obligatory requirement for all producers supplying materials to Russian or foreign aircraft producers . To our customers it is a guarantee of quality and reliability”.
 
ZAO Alcoa Metallurg Rus is the leading producer of fabricated aluminum in the South of Russia. The plant produces a wide range of flat rolled products, extrusions, tubes and forgings in compliance with international and Russian standards.
