Worldwide Month of Service

Alcoa's annual Worldwide Month of Service program in October each year is the centerpiece of Alcoa's Volunteer Program. Month of Service mobilizes Alcoa’s global workforce to make a positive difference in the communities where they live and work – last year partnering with nearly 3,000 not-for-profit community organizations across 24 countries.

Through the efforts of Alcoa employees during this month of intensive service activity, over 29,000 employees participated in close to 1,000 events across 24 countries.

Over 300,000 people across Alcoa and the broader community have participated in Month of Service since its inception in 2006.

Month of Service is the culmination of year-round volunteer efforts by Alcoa employees, who last year gave 650,000 hours of voluntary service – the equivalent of more than 325 people working full-time. Alcoa Russia participation soared in 2010 marking the record in the history of the business. Over 2,600 Alcoans (nearly 50% of Alcoa Russia headcount) volunteered during Month of Service 2010. They dedicated over 7,500 hours to voluntary community service.
