Andrey Donets was born in 1962 in Moscow.
In 1985 graduated from the First Moscow Medical University. In 1998 earned an MBA degree in the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.
In 1985-1993 worked as a doctor. Since 1993 took various leadership positions in commercial organizations.
In 1998 Mr. Donets was appointed Marketing and Sales Director of ROSTAR plant, and in 2000 became Commercial Director of the plant. Since 2004 - Deputy General Director of RUSAL, General Director of LLC ROSTAR, Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUSAL Dmitrov.
In January – November 2008 Mr. Donets was General Director of REXAM Russia.
In November 2008 Mr. Donets joined Alcoa Russia as President.
In 2009 Mr. Donets was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alcoa SMZ and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alcoa Metallurg Rus.
