Alcoa's presence in Norway began in 1962 through a partnership with Elkem
ASA to operate smelters in Lisa and Mosjoen. Today those two facilities are
100% Alcoa owned and operated on clean hydropower, with a combined output
of 282,000 metric tons per year (mtpy). Alcoa also operates a newly opened
anode plant in Mosjoen which supplies the Mosjoen smelter as well as alcoa
Fjardaal in Iceland.
With modern casthouse technology and clean potroom metal, Alcoa Norway
serves European rolling mills, extrusion plants and foundries. Alcoa Norway
