Alcoa in Norway
Profile
Alcoa Norway

Alcoa Norway is Norway’s second-largest producer of primary aluminium. The Alcoa Lista and Alcoa Mosjøen plants produce alloyed aluminium products in various formats. These foundries are equipped to serve the European market for high-qualityproducts in the form of extrusion billets, rolling slabs and foundry alloys.

The Mosjøen plant makes special rolling slabs and low iron foundry alloys, whilst the Lista plant produces extrusion billets and delivers liquid foundry alloys to the adjacent Alcoa Automotive Castings plant.

A large number of end products from the construction, packaging, electronics, automotive, aviation and other transport industries contain products from Alcoa Norway. Rolling slabs are further processed by customers into end products such as aluminium sheets, beverage cans, trays, boxes and foil.

Extrusion billets are supplied to customers manufacturing lighting masts, ladders, scaffolding and profiles for windows, doors, greenhouses and shop facades. Aluminium for load-bearing structures and profiles used by manufacturers of vehicles and other means of transport represents a growth market.

Foundry alloys are delivered to a large number of foundries throughout Europe. The end products are car components such as wheel rims, safety equipment like anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and various suspension solutions.
