Alcoa to Host Airbus in Davenport

WHY:
The Davenport Works celebration of the new Airbus A380, a 555-seat aircraft, is the second of three planned by Alcoa and Airbus (the first was held last month in Torrance, California) to hail the creation and retention of American jobs in the development of the A380.

BACKGROUND:
The Airbus A380 features more new Alcoa materials and products than any other aircraft on which the company has been involved (there's not been a plane since the Wright Brothers that does not use Alcoa technology or products). Alcoa products are literally used from nose to tail on the Airbus A380, beginning with forward landing gear, support structure to forgings for the horizontal and vertical stabilizers to 1 million Alcoa Fastening System fasteners holding it all together.
