One of Alcoa's most versatile and productive round ingot facilities is located in Massena, NY. Molten metal from our smelter is mixed with alloying materials and cast into a variety of diameters and lengths. Over sixty different aluminum alloys are produced in Massena with nearly half of the metal alloyed being transported to Alcoa's forging operation in Cleveland, Ohio for manufacture into high quality wheels for the transportation industry. The remainder of the aluminum alloys are used in our rod, bar and extrusion mills.
The Ingot Plant is also the site of our continuous rod casting and rolling mill, a state-of-the-art facility that fabricates coiled redraw rod for customer delivery directly from molten metal.
