Much of the metal alloyed in the Ingot Plant goes through an extrusion process. Like sqeezing toothpaste through the opening of its tube, our three extrusion presses force round ingot through dies at elevated temperatures to produce a variety of sizes and shapes for external customer use and as starting stock for further fabricating in our Wire, Rod and Bar mill.
