Alcoa Howmet helps make science REAL

Alcoa Howmet in Whitehall, Michigan presented a $150,000 check from the Alcoa Foundation to REsources for Authentic Learning in Science (REAL Science) to jump start a program aimed at fostering an interest among high school students in math and science careers.

Amy Heisser, Alcoa Howmet director of human resources, said, "We are fortunate that the Alcoa Foundation has recognized as a priority the need to support and contribute financially to technological education in the communities served by Alcoa Howmet locations." Alcoa Howmet, a division of Alcoa Power and Propulsion, has operations in eight states and six countries.
