AFS hosts students at Farnborough
Torrence, California, July 26, 2006 -- Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) hosted a group of students from the Dove School located in Basingstoke, UK, during International Youth Day held on the final trade day of the Farnborough International Airshow, a large aerospace exhibition, held earlier this month in England. AFS manufactures a variety of aerospace fasteners for aircraft makers worldwide.
The aim of the International Youth Day is to provide a program of events for a specially selected audience of up to 1,250 young people, between the ages of 15-23, studying aerospace and engineering related course.
“Many of these students will be involved in the future of the aerospace industry. We were pleased to discuss the aerospace industry, our company’s broad portfolio of products and contribution to the industry, and the future opportunities these students may pursue,” said Rick Sharpe, Senior Vice President, Global Customers and Marketing for Alcoa Fastening Systems.
