Intalco welcomes congressman

|
US Congressman Rick Larsen (rear and center) stopped in on Alcoa Intalco Works (Ferndale, Washington) employees working on Month of Service activity last week at the Museum of Radio and Electricity (AMRE) in Whatcom County. The Congressman congratulated the employees on the recent power Memorandum of Understanding for Intalco and also took the time to inspect the carpet pulling, painting and other renovations undertaken by the team of eighteen.
John Thuestad, President US Primary Products, also had the opportunity to see the hard work of the employees when he visited the museum to take part in a celebration for 2008 Alcoa Foundation grant recipients. Intalco has awarded four Alcoa Foundation grants in Whatcom County totaling $85,000 for the American Red Cross, Bellingham Technical College, Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association and AMRE. During the ceremony, John Thuestad pointed to Alcoa's strong culture of community contribution as one of his reasons for joining the organization.
