More than 4,100 new trees surround Alcoa's San Ciprián smelter and refinery, having been planted since 1999 by employees and visitors to the facility. This number continues to grow under Alcoa's Ten Million Trees program, with an average of one tree being planted every day.

The trees represent more than 25 species, including birch, oak, common olive, sweet gum, palm, and cottonwood.
