Alcoa started operating in Tubaro in the south of Santa Catarina in 1986, when it bought ALUSUDAlumnios do Sul S/A, which was involved with the casting, manufacturing and surface finishing of aluminum profiles. Since then it has been supplying products for the construction, furniture, automobile and metal-mechanical industries in the extrusion and anodizing sectors.
