Alcoa’s social programs, particularly Action and BRAVO!, are constantly developed in the unit and rely on the solid support of local employees who do important work in various philanthropic and associative institutions, which also receive US$ 3,000 every time Company employees become involved in collective help efforts.
In the case of the BRAVO! program, by 2007 more than U$ 160,000 had been given to entities in the Tubarão region. Thanks to the work of 173 employees from Tubarão the last Bravo! (2006) campaign benefited 72 entities with donations that totaled US$ 86,500. The figures for 2007 are even better: 357 employees are registered to help in 77 institutions.
