Alcoa Employees Restore Habitat for Endangered Species
More than 50 employees and their family members took part in a community activity held on a Saturday, involving environmental issues. The activity was held at the Zoológico Municipal Quinzinho de Barros, a public zoo located in the city of Sorocaba, State of São Paulo.
The project focused on the recovery of the surrounding region, the cleaning up and planting of seedlings in a region that is the habitat of four endangered species (the great anteater, the grison, a native wolf, and the pampas deer).
This project will be complemented through the implementation of identification signs and the manufacturing of acrylic boxes to store skeletons (environmental education project).
