Set up in 1943, the extruded products unit in the industrial district of Utinga, in Santo André, in the Greater São Paulo area, was acquired in 1996 by Alcoa Alumínio S.A, along with Alcan Alumínio do Brasil. The material produced by the plant goes mainly to the industrial market, for the automobile, transport, electrical equipment, machinery and equipment segments and consumer goods industries.
This is also the administrative headquarters of the Extruded Products Division in Latin America and houses Alcoa’s Brazilian Frame Technology Center (CTE).
The unit is active in the local community via various community activity programs and social campaigns that aim to provide well-being and improve the living standards of people from the region. Over the years the Utinga unit has made great efforts to ensure its employees are aware of the importance of valuing voluntary work. |
