The Itapissuma (Pernambuco) unit has been part of Alcoa Alumínio S.A. since 1981, when ASA - Alumínio S.A was acquired. In this plant, which is Alcoa Latin America's most business-diverse industrial complex, extruded and laminated products and closures are made.
The products manufactured in Itapissuma serve countless markets. Extruded profiles are used in the transport, machinery and equipment, electrical, consumer goods and civil construction sectors, while laminated products go to the pharmaceutical, food, civil construction, automobile, naval, textile, household goods and bicycle sectors.
Alcoa, which is located 35 km from the Pernambuco state capital on the banks of the Santa Cruz Channel, one of the state's important mangrove swamp areas, distinguishes itself with its respect for the environment.
