Kawneer Wins Two Crystal Achievement Awards from Glass Magazine

Company Honored for “Most Innovative Comprehensive Marketing Program” and “Most Innovative Print Media”
 
 
NORCROSS, GA – Kawneer Company, Inc., the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for commercial construction, has been named the winner of two 2008 Crystal Achievement Awards, presented by Glass Magazine, the official magazine of the National Glass Association. The Crystal Achievement Awards recognize significant innovations and achievements in architectural glass technology, manufacturing and marketing.
 
For the third year in a row, Kawneer has won the award for “Most Innovative Comprehensive Marketing Program,” winning this year for its Sustainable Solutions marketing campaign. Kawneer’s 2008 Sustainable Solutions calendar was named the winner for “Most Innovative Print Media.” This marks the second consecutive year that Kawneer has been awarded “Most Innovative Print Media.”  Both awards qualified under the “Large Company” category.

 

In January 2008, Kawneer launched a year-long, comprehensive campaign to demonstrate its commitment to providing sustainable solutions and to foster a greater understanding of how the daily choices we make can affect the environment. The Sustainable Solutions campaign, awarded “Most Innovative Comprehensive Marketing Program,” incorporated a full range of marketing media, including print, digital, public relations and promotional items to best reach customers, architects, industry influencers and employees. With the key message, “Every Day You Make a Choice. Make a Choice that Counts,” Kawneer examined how building with sustainable products can make a positive difference in the future of the planet. Kawneer utilized these messages throughout the campaign to demonstrate the many ways Kawneer supports that principle.

 

One key element of Kawneer’s Sustainable Solutions campaign was the company’s 2008 calendar, which was awarded “Most Innovative Print Media.” Carrying through the “choice” theme, Kawneer’s calendar featured tips on how individuals can make everyday choices that will help the environment. The calendar also featured Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) registered or LEED certified projects using Kawneer products – turning the idea of sustainability into a reality. Kawneer gave the calendar an earth-friendly makeover by condensing it to half the number of pages from previous years and printed entirely on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper at a FSC certified printer. Kawneer’s Sustainable Solutions Calendar demonstrated the beauty and aesthetics of sustainable design and construction, and served as a year-long reminder to people that the daily choices we make really do count.
