Inclusive Expo Offerings Feature Education Courses, Product and Expert Interaction, and the Introduction of a New Offering.
NORCROSS, GA -- Kawneer Company, Inc., the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum building products and systems for commercial construction, is returning to the AIA National Convention and Design Expo with products and initiatives that enable architects to design for the future. Highlights of this year’s expo appearance include the continuation of Kawneer’s AIA-Registered Expo Education programs, as well as the introduction of an exciting new offering from Kawneer.
“We work closely with architects to better understand their needs and how we can help meet those needs as they evolve,” said Henry Taylor, manager of Kawneer’s Architectural Services Team. “Last year we received overwhelmingly positive responses regarding our Expo Education programs, so we are excited to be able to provide these learning sessions to attendees again.”
Kawneer continues its tradition of Expo Education with three popular AIA-registered Continuing Education System (CES) programs. Conducted within the exhibit’s dedicated learning center (booth #19121), the 15-minute programs provide a convenient format for architect education as well as the opportunity for hands-on product interaction and in-person conversations with product experts.
With several sessions offered daily, participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can qualify as credit toward AIA learning units. The schedule can be found at the top and the program descriptions are as follows:
Achieving your LEED strategy Through Division 8: Glass & Glazing: Glass and glazing directly impact three major LEED categories. Learn how to meet your specific LEED strategies and design goals by specifying glass and glazing products and systems.
Strategies for Labor Optimization in Division 8: Glass & Glazing: Managing a budget is critical with almost any project. Determine which architectural aluminum systems, methods of fabrication and glazing techniques can help reduce labor requirements and provide savings in labor costs.
Strategies for Energy Optimization in Division 8: Glass & Glazing: A key dimension of sustainable design involves maintaining a project’s energy efficiency for years into the future. This program introduces thermal breaks and shows how thermally broken systems can help improve energy efficiency.
The Kawneer booth will also include the company’s featured products, and experts will be available to answer questions and provide technical information. The sizable exhibit will feature four major focus areas: Green Design, Protective Glazing, Unitized Solutions and Thermal Products. Kawneer’s extensive exhibit reveals not only the company’s knowledge of LEED, but also its comprehensive product lines. In addition, Kawneer will be launching, and demonstrating, an exciting new offering throughout the expo.
