Cial in cooperation with Alcoa and the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias introduced the project “Eye on Aluminum”

Portovesme (Sardinia) – In October 2008,  Cial (the national consortium for recovery and recycling of aluminum) in cooperation with Alcoa and the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias introduced the project “Eye on Aluminum” (Obiettivo Alluminio)

Purpose of the project is to “look at aluminum and its recycling trough the eyes of the youngsters”. It is supported by some 30 schools of the territory and is based on a competition among the students who have to take photographs of aluminum in its daily use (from beverage cans and food containers to the complex building, furnishing and automotive applications). The students will test their creativity and at the same time focus on environment and the importance of aluminum recycling.

This program strengthens the cooperation among Alcoa, Cial and the local schools, started in 2007 with a project involving over 600 students - and performed by Alcoa - aiming at educating on recycling techniques and methods.
