Congratulations Iceland!
As everyone knows Iceland’s handball team did a terrific job at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Their silver medal marks not only the biggest event in Iceland’s sports history but also a major event in the international world of sports. Never before has such a small nation won a medal in a team sport at the Olympics.
Iceland’s athletes have shown that even the impossible becomes possible with drive, solidarity, self-confidence and joy. Their results will be an example to Icelanders for years to come.
Following this terrific performance, Alcoa Fjardaal has joined numerous other Icelandic companies in supporting the Icelandic Handball Federation to defray the costs of the trip to the Olympic Games and to bolster the sport in Iceland.
