The homepage of the Sustainability Group has officially opened. We hope that this page can keep our members up to date with what is happening both in our group and in the wider world of Sustainable Development.

June 21, 2004
Our next meeting venue will be in Reyðarfjörður on 31 August to 1 September. We have secured accomodation at the Fosshotel Reyðarfjörður for at least 20 people. The meetings will take place across the street, in the Church Congregation Centre. Read more about the meeting here.

June 10th, 2004
The day that Hugi Olafsson from the Ministry for the Environment sat in our first meeting (7 June), he took over the position of Office Manager in the Ministry. A News Release from the Ministry on June 7th says: "Hugi Ólafsson has worked in the Ministry from 1995 ... He worked as a journalist for Morgunblaðið 1987-1989 and 1994-1995, and for the United Nations Information Department in New York from 1991-1994. Hugi has a BA-degree in geology and politics from Occidental College in Los Angeles and a Masters degree in International Politics from Columbia University in New York. His wife is Jóhanna Magnúsdóttir, political scientist, and they have two sons." Congratulations on your promotion, Hugi!
