Alcoa Howmet's casting facility in Hampton is the leading producer of complex investment cast turbine airfoils for the industrial gas turbine industry.  The facility specializes in the investment casting of equiaxed, MX® ultra-fine grain, directionally solidified (DS), and single crystal (SC) blades, and single and multi-vane segments for industrial gas turbine applications.  The facility has been in its present location in Hampton, Virginia since 1974.

  • Production of single crystal components: up to 42 pounds
