A message from Ken Wisnoski, president of Alcoa Primary Products Growth, Energy, Bauxite, and Africa:

Ever since the Greenland Home Rule government, the municipalities of Maniitsoq, Nuuk, and Sisimiut, and Alcoa began exploring the feasibility of establishing an aluminum industry in Greenland, I have felt that we are working within the spirit of thoughtful, professional, and friendly collaboration.

We have before us a wonderful opportunity to deliver mutual benefit to the people of Greenland and to Alcoa as we continue to work toward our common objective of building a world-class, sustainable aluminum smelter, powered by renewable hydroelectric energy in Greenland.

As we face the challenges and complexities that any such project brings, we look forward to open and active engagement with all relevant stakeholders. This website is dedicated to that cause. It will be a source of information and a means of making contact. It is also a window on Alcoa's worldwide operations.

Alcoa is a values-based company, and I encourage you to use this website to explore how we put these values into action globally in areas as diverse as community engagement and climate change. Alcoa is also a learning organization, and we are equally committed to learning as much as we can about Greenland, its culture, and its character.

The more we can learn about each other, the better we can forge strong, long-lasting relationships. It is in those relationships that we will find the foundation for true sustainable development.
