Installation Sequence - UNIMATIC® Single Action ("S" code)

This installation cycle applies to the UNIMATIC® single action blind rivet (NAS1919S & 1921S). Each diameter rivet requires a separate installation tool nose assembly. (Reference installation tool data)

Step one

Insert Fastener into prepared hole, place installation tool over pintail to engage spindle pull grooves. And depress tool trigger to start installation. All force is applied against the locking collar.

Step two

As spindle is pulled the extrusion land on the spindle passes trough the sleeve to mechanically expand it to fill the hole. The spindle continues movement until the head comes in contact with the sleeve

Step Three

Continued motion causes the sleeve to bulb forming a large bearing blind head, at the same time the lock collar is being forced into the sleeve conical angle and the spindle lock groove.

Step Four

When spindle motion stops as a result of the lock collar formation the load builds up and the spindle separates leaving a installed fastener with a flush pin break and a positive lock.

The entire installation sequence is accomplished in less than two seconds.
