"S" Code Single Action Installation 5/32" & 3/16" and "-" code 1/4 and larger
The "S" Code blind bolt is a single action installation fastener that is installed with one continuous stroke of the installation tool. This method of installation offers the possibility of offset tools for installations in clearance areas.
"S" Code Blind Bolts are identified with the code letter "S" in the Huck and Military part numbers.
"S" Code Blind Bolts are available in Alloy Steel & A286 CRES.
'S' Code A-286 CRES blind bolts in 5/32 and 3/16 inch diameters use a shear cap as shown in the illustration below.
Dash "-" code A286 CRES blind bolts in diameters 1/4 inch and larger also use the shear cap method of installation.
On A286 CRES fasteners a shear cap is used. The shear cap is used to force a CRES locking collar located under the shear cap into the conical lock seat, the shear cap is not a part of the installed fastener. The installation sequence is the same as for the shear flange design shown on the alloy steel version of 'S' code installations.
